Sailor Moon Millennium #22(a) - A Battle Against All Odds -

It was late, the sun had set long ago and the moon could be seen brightly high above the quiet park. The stars shone brightly and nothing could be heard other then the night sounds of animals and Amy's soft speaking voice. 
"Now we only have one chance to do this, if it doesn't work the first time then we will all be without power's.

The five other scouts nodded in agreement. "Alright now we all must hold hands." Amy took and the other's all took a hold of each other's hands, they all stood in a circle all six of the sailor scouts, along with Tuxedo Mask and the Daystar Knight.

"Here we go." Sailor Mars said hopefully. Each of the scouts closed their eyes.

"COSMIC MOON . . . . . POWER!"

"MERCURY STAR . . . . . POWER!"

"MARS STAR . . . . . POWER!"

"JUPITER STAR . . . . . POWER!"

"VENUS STAR . . . . . POWER!"

"EARTH STAR . . . . . POWER!"

"SOLARIS STAR . . . . . POWER!"

"DAYSTAR COSMIC . . . . . POWER!"

The auras of each of the scout's were growing at their very strongest. Sailor Moon had a pink aura around her, her long blonde hair was blowing above her head. Sailor Mercury was glowing blue her short hair moved violently in the wind that wasn't there. Sailor Mars had a strong red aura surrounded her, her long violet hair was moving fiercely. Sailor Jupiter had a green aura surrounding her. Venus had a yellow aura around her body. Tuxedo Mask was enveloped in a deep red aura. Sailor Sun had an orange gold aura surrounded her, as did the Daystar Knight.

Suddenly their head's snapped up, their eyes still closed. And they could feel the energy flowing through them. Luna, Artemis and Eclipse covered their eyes from the increasing light that was given off. The whole park began to glow in an array of colors. Small chunks of dirt and grass began to float up into the air. The nearby branches started to blow fiercely in the wind that had picked up. 

The three-guardian animal's shielded their eyes from the debris and the blinding light that was now surrounding the eight soldiers. "Good luck! And be cautious." Eclipse managed to call out to the soldiers before the blinding light disappeared completely. 

The park went black, the light was gone. The pieces of ground that had been ripped up settled back down. The branches went still, and the three-guardian animals took a step forward then looked up into the night sky.

'I hope that they will be alright, this might be their biggest battle yet.' Eclipse thought to himself with a deep sigh.

* * * * *

In the darkness of space an orb of light suddenly appeared, the orb flew towards the ship, which hid in the darkness of the shadow of the moon. 

"Here we go again, to fight the unspeakable evil, to save the world yet again." Sailor Moon said with a sigh.

Everything went deadly quiet. The orb began to move closer to the ship. It circled around the ship twice then stopped in front of the ship. Sailor Sun then decided to break the silence. 

"Yeah, you guys might have done this all before but please keep in mind that this is my first time doing this, I really don't know what to do but I'm a little excited. It might be fun to kick some serious bad guy butt!" Sailor Sun said with a smile.

"Yeah Sailor Sun is right, this should be fun, I'm sure this is definitely what we all need. Some major butt kicking." The Daystar Knight said with a smile as he turned to look at Sailor Sun. He winked his right eye then turned back to the others.

"You're right, we can all benefit from this, another learning experience for us. We can become more educated." Sailor Mercury said as she turned to look at each of her friend's faces in turn.

"Oh Sailor Mercury do you think you would be able to think about something else, that is all you do. You think about learning all day long. Try to have some fun in your life. It is fun, and I'm sure you will enjoy it." Sailor Venus said with a laugh. The others all joined in with the laugh.

"Sorry to interrupt all of this but I think we had get ready for one of the biggest battles of our life's." Tuxedo Mask said as he indicated with his head that they would be going inside the ship soon enough.

The six-sailor scout's and the two male soldiers all focused at what lie ahead of them. They closed their eyes and concentrated. "Here we go again." Sailor Jupiter said softly.

The orb circled in front of the ship once more then it disappeared from site.

Within the dark almost lightness throne room the orb appeared close to the ceiling. It then gradually drifted towards the floor. Once it touched the cold black marble floor it disappeared and the eight soldiers stood in the 
darkness.

A sinister laugh was heard ahead of them, they all turned and tried to focus on the black figure before them. "I see you have made it and without much time to spare, now how are we going to do this, never before have I had an organized fight, do any of you little sailor brat's have an idea?" Queen Hecate stepped forward. A spotlight went on her. Another went of the eight sailor soldiers.

Sailor Mars stepped forward. She but her hand's together and closed her eyes. Her legs were apart, her head slightly tilted forward.

"MARS FIREBALLS . . . . . CHARGE!"

From her hand's a large fireball appeared and headed straight towards the queen. Just before the fireball hit Queen Hecate she disappeared. The fireball disappeared. Her sinister laugh could be heard all throughout the throne room.

"Nice try Sailor Mars, but now for that little outburst you will pay dearly!"

The eight sailor soldiers looked around the room trying to find out where the queen had gone. The spotlight that was on them disappeared. A shrill scream was heard, everyone turned in the direction in which Sailor Mars was 
standing before. The spotlight went back on, the Queen had her hands around Sailor Mars' neck. Her eyes had begun to close. She didn't have much more air left as her windpipe began to collapse.

The queen and Sailor Mars disappeared, then reappeared up by the black throne. The queen dropped Sailor Mars, the violet hared scout fell to the floor lifeless. On Queen Hecate's face was an evil smirk. "I'm sorry but Sailor Mars will not be able to fight with you today. She has been 
disqualified from the match due to her condition."

Queen Hecate snapped her finger's and Sailor Mars' body disappeared from where she lay on the floor, the sailor scouts then reappeared behind a glass window, she was hanging from chain's that went around her arm's. "Does anyone else want to join her?"

Sailor Jupiter stepped forth, she had a very livid look on her face. "How could you? That wasn't fair at all." She said as she got into her fighting stance a few feet in front of Queen Hecate.

"You took one of our fighter's, but I'm sure that doesn't matter to you. It isn't like you would fight fair anyway." Sailor Venus looked towards Sailor Jupiter, they both nodded.

Sailor Jupiter flipped off to the right, and Sailor Venus to the left, they were hidden from the queen's sight as they hid behind two pillar's in the dark.

"JUPITER THUNDERSTORM . . . . . DEMOLISH!"

"VENUS PASSION KISS . . . . . SMACK!"

A large dark cloud formed over Queen Hecate, large thunderbolts came down from it hitting Queen Hecate. A large impression of lips went towards the queen who was now screaming in pain. Sailor Mercury then stepped forth.

"MERCURY TYPHOON . . . . . CRASH!"

A large wave formed before the queen, it began to grow and grow until it was ten times her size. The large amount of water then crashed down on the unexpecting queen. Screams of pain could be heard throughout the throne 
room. The room went silent. Nothing was heard, all the lights went out. Three screams rang throughout the throne room.

Sailor Moon, Sailor Sun, Tuxedo Mask and the Daystar Knight all looked around in alarm. The voice of their enemy could be heard close by. It seemed as if she was right behind them, but every-time that they turned 
around the voice would come in another direction.

"Is everyone having fun yet? Oh how I hope so, because I have really gone through so much planning, I really want to make everything go along just as planned, so you wouldn't want to ruin my plans now would you?" There was a long pause, and then another scream rang throughout the hall. The scream was followed by a mans grown. "Ah yes everything is ready for the party to begin."

With those words and a snap of Queen Hecate's fingers the room lightened. Not everything could be seen clearly but the outlines of most objects could be seen.

Sailor Sun and the Daystar Knight stood alone in the large throne room. "This is beginning to look much more the way I wanted it, before there was too many people but now there is just about enough people. But I think three is a crowd." There was a pause of silence. "Don't you?" The queen asked as she looked at the two lone soldiers.

Queen Hecate then gave a smirk that made Sailor Sun and the Daystar Knight wish that they hadn't even become soldiers of love and justice.

The queen raised her hand above her head. She locked her eyes on the Daystar Knight, their eyes met each other's. Queen Hecate's eyes became full of fire. A small smirk spread across her lips for only a few seconds.

Quicker then light a spear of fire appeared above her hand. She thrust it forth aiming it at the Daystar Knight's heart. The spear of fire flew across the room with great speed.

His eyes widened, then he quickly shut them, he was frozen with fear. Sailor Sun stood and watched as the spear went towards the Daystar Knight. Everything appeared to be in slow motion as the spear inched its way toward him.

The Daystar Knight's eyes snapped open, they were full of pain as he saw Sailor Sun hurdle herself in front of the spear. The spear sliced into her right shoulder. Time seemed to stop as Sailor Sun fell towards the floor, the spear still sticking through her frail body. The spear disappeared as it had gone through her.

The Daystar Knight was unable to catch Sailor Sun as she fell to the floor. As soon as Sailor Sun's almost lifeless body hit the cold black floor he ran to her side. Gently he placed her upper-body on his lap. He brushed her red hair out of her face and looked down into her eyes, which 
looked up at him pleadingly.

Queen Hecate got a look of shock on her face. She shook her head in disappointment as she continued to watch the Daystar Knight tend to the dying Sailor Sun.

"Sailor Sun you can't die on me you can't, how will I be able to fight this without you, knowing that you did this for me, I would never be able to live with all that on my shoulders." He looked lovingly into her blue eyes, tears were beginning to form in his own blue eyes.

He placed his hand over the wound. Blood was seeping throughout the white sailor uniform. He applied pressure in an attempt to stop the blood. "I . . . I'm sorry, b . . . but I . . . no longer have . . . enough . . . strength . . . to go on . . . you must wi . . . win this battle for . . . for me." Sailor Sun looked up into the wet blue eyes of the Daystar Knight.

"No, no you can't leave me you can't!" He yelled in vain, for it was too late, Sailor Sun's eyes went blank and closed. Her body then fell lifeless onto his lap. Not even her chest was moving, she was gone. He kissed her cold forehead one last time.

Then he rose to his feet, his eyes locked with the queen's with a cold stare. His eyes were full of hatred, pain, sorrow and even regret. He took his fighting stance. He reached down to pull his saber from its sheath.

"I am the protector of the sailor scout of the red star the sun, and today I couldn't protect her because she was protecting me. I still shall fight for the sol system. Although I may not me searching for my lost love, because I did find her but now she has gone! So prepare yourself because I will avenge her death!"

He gripped tightly to the hilt of the saber, he raised in front of his face. He kept his eyes locked on Queen Hecate's. The queen saw that he was going to attack so with a wave of her hand the Sword of Darkness appeared in her hand. She just managed to block the Daystar Knight's first attack.

The metallic sound of two swords ran throughout the large empty throne room. The queen just barely managed to block her opponent's attacks. The Daystar Knight went all out, he put all of his strength into each swing of his saber.

The Daystar Knight tried every angle to get an attack in on the queen. She was forced to step back a couple of steps as the blade of his saber got a little to close for comfort.

"You killed the one woman that I ever loved, the only woman that I could ever love. And you took that away from me." The two weapons clashed together. Both trying to knock the sword from the others grasp.

"Well if it is any consolation to you I wasn't trying to kill her. I wanted to kill you, but she had to go and get in the way of everything. How do you think I feel? I had this perfect plan worked out and you went and messed it up."

The two gave away to the pressure, thus both of them had to take a couple of steps back in order to catch their balance. As the Daystar Knight raised his saber it scraped along the floor, sparks fell up from it. He raised it and the steel of his blade met the steel of the queens.

He gritted his teeth, and narrowed his eyes. "This is it, do you have any final requests?" He asked while he took another powerful swing at the queen.

The attack surprised the queen, she was forced to step back further, closer and closer to the wall. She just managed to block each of the attacks that were skillfully swung.

Just as she approached the wall she lifted her right hand and a burst of fire formed, it took the shape of a snake for a few seconds then it pushed back the Daystar Knight. He fell to the floor with his sword still in his hand.

Small ember's burned on the ground around him, some even on parts of his uniform. He looked up, Queen Hecate was coming right at him. He rolled off to the side. The blade of the queen's sword hit the floor. The noise rang 
loudly through the room.

The Daystar Knight jumped back up to his feet quickly. He got a firm grip on the hilt of his saber. He turned and ran at the queen who was still trying to get her sword out of the floor.

His saber was risen above his head, he swung it down swiftly, the metallic sound could be heard again. The queen had spun around just in time to block the attack.

Now furious he swung his sword repeatedly at the queen, it was getting harder and harder for her to block his attacks. She was beginning to tire of this on going charade.

Finally he managed to get a swing in on the queen. The blade of his sword grazed the queen's arm. They both stopped. She looked from the Daystar Knight down to her arm. Blood was seeping through her dress.

"Now I will kill you, for you killed Sailor Sun." The Daystar Knight took a very powerful swing at the queen's sword. He knocked it from her hand. The sword went flying up towards the ceiling. The queen looked up at her sword which came down and landed ten feet away from her, there was no way that she could get it without getting a stab in the back.

She quickly looked up at the Daystar Knight whom held his sword closely to her heart. "If you try to get that then I will kill you right here right now."

"Oh you will, will you? I don't believe that you have it in you. You couldn't kill me, you couldn't kill anything. No matter how corrupt their soul is, or how black their heart. You wouldn't be able to do it. I dare you."

The Daystar Knight still held the blade of his saber close to her heart. "I can and I will. You killed Sailor Sun, the princess of the sun, the woman that I loved so much. I loved her and you killed her." Tears were beginning 
to form in his eyes again, then he shook his head. 'He could cry now, he would lose it right there and then. And he would be done for, no one would be left to fight in his place. No one to save the world.'

He looked up into the queen's cold dark eyes. "DIE!" He screamed as he pulled back the sword and jabbed it, he jabbed it right into the air. The queen had disappeared. She stood back up by her throne. The Daystar Knight 
looked at her, his eyes were full of rage.

"You killed her, you killed her so coldly. You didn't do anything to stop her from jumping in front of the spear. You own NEICE!" He paused. "I LOVE her. And always will." With those words his chest began to glow gold in color. He looked down shocked and confused.

An even brighter light began to form behind him. He turned to see that Sailor Sun's heart was glowing much like his own. The body of Sailor Sun began to levitate, it rose until it was upright. There were still no sign's of life coming from her. Her chin rested on her chest. Eyes still shut.

The glowing got brighter and larger. The queen had to shield her eyes from the now blinding light. The Daystar Knight stepped back to Sailor Sun. He put his sword back in its sheath. He now faced Sailor Sun.

Sailor Sun's body drifted above the floor. The glowing of her heart moved away from her body, it looked like an orb of energy. The glowing from the Daystar Knights heart did the same thing. They both moved upward, up above 
each of their heads. The light had become very intense. There they stayed above their heads.

"What?! What is this? What is happening?" The queen strained her eyes to see what was happening. She could barely make out the two figures of the soldiers before her.

Sailor Sun's body was at that moment surrounded by a circular wall of energy. The Daystar Knight eyes could still see her clearly. Then her entire body glowed gold, only the silhouette of her body could be seen.

Once the light disappeared along with the wall of energy that had circled around her, there she floated. She wore her princess dress. It blew wildly in a wind, which was not there.

Her head was still bowed and there were no sign's of life. The Daystar Knight had transformed into his prince form, which wasn't very different from his knight form. The only difference was that he wore the Daystar Crest.

The two orbs of energy floated down until they were level with her chest. Prince Daystar looked at the two orbs with confused eyes. He looked up from the two orbs, up to Princess Cassandra's face. It was still ghostly white.

"What is this? What are you doing?" The queen asked, knowing that she wouldn't receive an answer. She could now see the two soldiers before her. Both in their past forms.

Her eyes went wide. 'This is not good, they are much stronger in their forms of the past. She looked around the room for an escape that was not there.

Prince Daystar began to lose hope, there were still no signs of life coming from Princess Cassandra's body. He turned and faced the queen, legs shoulder width apart.

The two orbs of light went together and formed one. She put her hands out, the orb floated into her hands. The light died away.

The queen's eyes widened. "It can't be, it is impossible for that to be the Golden Illusion Jewel!" With those words Princess Cassandra's eyes snapped open swiftly as the sign of the sun glowed on her forehead.
